Ebola Would Be Better

Schools across the country have been canceled due to the flu outbreak. This season, at least 37 children have died due to flu-related causes. Schools in at least 12 states have been closed because of the flu. 20 Oklahoma school districts have closed due to the flu. Scientists have said that this has been the biggest flu outbreak in history

People of all ages have gotten sick and died because of the flu. The flu is not the only thing that has caused people to be hospitalized. Along with getting the flu people have gotten strep throat and scarlet fever. People have also died because the flu had weakened their immune system and attacked their brain causing a brain infection. Getting the flu has also led to people getting pneumonia.

The flu can hit anyone at any given moment. The flu can attack some of the healthiest people. Some ways to prevent from getting the flu are:

  • Avoid close contact.

Try to stay away from people who are sick, and if you are sick, stay away from other people to prevent spreading the virus.

  • Cover your mouth and nose.

When you are coughing or sneezing, cover your nose or mouth with a tissue to prevent spreading your sickness to other people.

  • Clean your hands.

Keeping your hands clean will help protect you from germs.

  • Avoid touching your face.

Your hands have a lot of germs on them so not touching your face will prevent you from spreading the germs to your eyes, nose, and mouth.

  • Be healthy.

Make sure you get plenty of sleep, be active, drink lots of fluids, and eat nutritious foods.

  • Keep things clean.

Disinfect things that are touched frequently, especially by people that are sick.

If you have flu symptoms, you should go see a doctor. If you are sick, then you should stay home from work or school. If you are not sick, it is still good to be cautious and stay away from people who have been or are sick.
