On Saturday, January 26 Canton FFA competed at the Way Out West heifer and steer show in Laverne. Jake Sinclair, Weston Waldrep,Levi Shaw, Claysen Scott, Nate Lang, Taylor Dowell, and Blair Dowell spent the day washing, drying, and showing their animals. Canton brought eleven heifers and one steer.

Taylor Dowell and Weston Waldrep won all three Charolais classes. Weston Waldrep won Grand Charolais and competed in the Grand Drive. Canton also had other class winners over the course of the day.

When ag teacher, Don Mitchell, came to Canton four years ago, Canton FFA had the smallest number of kids showing of school in Blaine county. It has now grown to have the largest number of kids showing in the county. At that point, Canton was showing 3-4 cattle. This year there will be 25-26.
