Canton Students Take the Plunge

Saturday, February 23, the Tiger Unified Champion Club (TUCC) traveled to Stillwater, Oklahoma to join other schools to take the Polar Plunge.

The Polar Plunge is a fundraising challenge made to an individual or group challenging them to dive into a cold body of water in order to raise money for Special Olympics. Each participant tries to collect pledges from anyone who is willing to donate. To be able to plunge, the participant has to raise at least $75 and sign a waver.

The water was not that bad. The worst part of the plunge was waiting on Beau to get out of the pool. He took forever on the ladder

Six members of TUCC participated in the plunge.  These members were Michael Buckmaster, Brandi Brandly, Kassie Stinson, Caden Koehn, Beau Fuqua, and Kenidi Humbargar. The TUCC raised $655.

When it was time to plunge, the members of TUCC were the first ones to plunge of 93 plunging participants. The participants jumped into a pool full of cold water from the back of a flatbed truck.

After the TUCC took the plunge they went to Eskimo Joe’s to eat.

If anyone would like to donate to TUCC or any member of TUCC, donations are still being accepted. People can donate at https://www.mysook.org/chillychampions/Team/View/93890/Tiger-Unified-Champion-Club
