Change, Change Is Good

The elementary school has been given a bunch of different cosmetic changes. The elementary bathrooms are painted with quotes and pretty things while the highschool stalls have a habit of locking people inside. The elementary building got new paint and decorations while the high school still has the old crusty paint that could drive a person insane if they look at it for too long. The highschool needs to step up and get with the program.

The hot water that takes forever to heat up

The only good sinks in the whole school are the art room sinks. The bathroom and Mrs. Haub’s sinks take forever to heat up. You could let the water run for five minutes and the water is still ice cold. The art room sinks, the ones rarely used, shoot out water hot enough to scald someone in a matter of seconds. I learned that the hard way, ouch.

The heater/air conditioners

Many classrooms are never at a comfortable temperature. It’s either too hot or it’s too cold. It’s hard to pay attention when you’re shivering in your chair because it is 60 degrees. The hallways are notorious for being ice cold, does this school not have working heaters?

The bathrooms that need new stalls

Every single bathroom in this school needs to be replaced and redone. The big stall in the bathroom next to the ag room has a tendency to lock everyone in the stall. The lock is broken and it takes the strength of Hercules to unlock the lock.

The ceiling tiles that need to be replaced

I am convinced that the reason kids in this school get sick is because of the nasty ceiling tiles. The tiles are brown from months of water damage and mold. Why are some of the ceiling tiles missing from the ceiling or just not put in properly?

The old paint that has been here since the school was built needs to be replaced.

Everything needs new paint. Honestly, there are rooms where it is obvious that they have painted AROUND filing cabinets at some point in time. The lockers are scratched to the point where a whole new paint job is needed. The only room in the school that isn’t the God-awful tan is Mr. Mesis’s classroom. The nice light grey is so much nicer to look at than the khaki tan.

The carpeting and tile need replacing.

The carpeting is gross. Duct Tape is holding carpet together in several different classrooms. The tile in the hallways is worn down from years of shoes rubbing on it. Why are there holes in the tiles? Why aren’t the holes filled?

Oh well, priorities differ from one person to another, I guess.
