Just Follow The Dress Code Already

Just+Follow+The+Dress+Code+Already

Along with a new principal came some new rules to the dress code. A lot of students are excited about these new changes, but let’s not take advantage of them. Students are now allowed to show skin below mid-thigh and students and teachers have seen girls wearing ripped jeans, shorts, and skirts that are above mid-thigh. Keep in mind that this also applies to boys that wear shorts above mid-thigh which is something students have been paying attention to.

Students are not allowed to show their midriff, although we can now wear sleeves three fingers wide. If students wear leggings, their bottom must be covered. If a student gets dress-coded, they will be sent to the office to wear a hoodie and sweatpants or wait until clothes are brought to them. Teachers suggest that all students follow the dress code accordingly therefore, uniforms will not be enforced, which is something we all know we don’t want.

Students know that our dress code is not perfect but it is getting better, and hopefully will continue to get better over the years if we can keep to the rules. We want our dress code to stay more inclusive, not vice versa.
