Apple’s 10th Anniversary

Apples+10th+Anniversary

September 12, 2017, marked Apple’s 10 year anniversary.  Over the years, the hype for the new release of Apple products has skyrocketed as technology has advanced.  This year, Apple did not disappoint.  Tim Cook, the Chief Executive Officer of Apple, introduced two new generations of iPhones, the iPhone 8/8 Plus, as well as the iPhone X. The iPhone 8 is only an improved version of the iPhone 7.  It includes 3D Touch and longer battery life, along with a home button and available Touch ID security.  The iPhone 8 is the first Apple phone to be compatible with wireless charging, due to its glass back.  Like the iPhone 7, the 8 does not allow for a 3.5 mm audio jack to be connected, unless it is converted by a “dongle.”  The 8’s release date is September 22, 2017.

The iPhone X, which is pronounced 10, not “ecks”, is a brand new type of iPhone.  It does not have a home button or fingerprint ID security.  It instead features facial recognition, which allows the phone to scan a face and recognize it.  Facial recognition will work as security to unlock the phone, use Apple pay, or download apps/music.  The iPhone X is the beginning of a new generation of iPhones.  Just like the iPhone 7 and 8, the X does not feature a headphone jack.  The release date for the iPhone X is November 3rd.
