In Hawkins, Indiana, a strange incident starts a chain of events. It all begins when Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) suddenly goes missing. Many people are on a search for Will, including his mother Joyce (Winona Ryder), a police officer Jim Hopper (David Harbour), and his friends Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo). Things get even stranger when a little girl with a shaved head comes into the story. A few locals begin to understand that there is more going on than meets the eye.

Matt and Ross Duffer are known professionally as the Duffer Brothers. They are American identical twins best known for writing and directing a number of science fiction, horror films,  and TV shows.

Stranger Things has become one of Netflix’s smash hits. It is an eight-episode Netflix original series directed by The Duffer Brothers. This is no ordinary series. It is something that doesn’t come around often. In season one of Stranger Things, in an isolated laboratory in Hawkins, Indiana, some kind of monster has escaped from its holding cell and is killing whoever gets in its way.

Starring a Golden Globe-winning actress, Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers and Noah Schnapp as Will Byers. Joyce is a major character in the first season. She is certain that her son Will is trying to communicate with her through the lights in her house. Despite everyone treating her as if she was having a mental breakdown, Joyce refused to believe that Will was dead. Jim Hopper is played by David Harbour. Hopper is Chief of Police in the small, sleepy town of Hawkins, where he lives out a carefree existence. Yet he is haunted by a troubled past. With Will being missing, Hopper’s life becomes infinitely more complicated. Will’s friends Mike, Lucas, and Dustin are played by Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, and Gaten Matarazzo. They made it their mission to find their missing friend Will. While searching for him, they stumbled upon the escaped Eleven instead. Mike soon discovered that she knew something about Will’s disappearance, enlisting her help in finding him. Eleven was born with many psychokinetic abilities, she was raised and experimented on in Hawkins National Laboratory. Upon discovering her abilities, it was eventually revealed that in a lab experiment she made contact with a creature from another dimension, accidentally opening an interdimensional gateway.

The TV show is filled with so much mystery. When first hearing about it, it sounded weird, but while watching it, I got into it more. It had me hooked, especially finding out that Eleven had powers and there also being a second season. I would definitely rate it five stars.
