Tigers Place 2nd in District Tournament

For the Tigers’ first game in districts, the Tigers played the Covington-Douglas Wildcats. At the start of the game, the Tigers started on offense, winning the jump. On offense, the Tigers passed the ball, making an open three-pointer. On defense, the Tigers held off the Wildcats from scoring. After a few passes, the Tigers stole the ball and made a fast-break.
In the second quarter, the Tigers started on defense. On defense, the Tigers stopped the Wildcats from driving, but were unable to stop them from shooting three-pointers. On offense, the Tigers started driving into the Wildcats defense, trying to draw fouls.
At the start of the second half, the Tigers started on offense. On offense, the Tigers ran their plays, looking for an open player in the paint or the corner. On defense, the Tigers were unable to get back on defense, with the Wildcats making multiple fast-breaks.
In the final quarter, the Tigers started on offense. On offense, the Tigers started holding the ball, trying to prevent the Wildcats from scoring. On defense, the Tigers ran a man-defense, trying to stop the Wildcats’ offense.

For the Tigers’ second game in districts, the Tigers played the Seiling Wildcats. At the start of the game, the Wildcats tipped the ball to the Tigers, trying to score a fast-break. However, the Tigers managed to grab the ball and start on offense. On offense, the Tigers ran one of their plays, making a bump. On defense, the Tigers stole the ball and made a fast-break. At the end of the first quarter, the Wildcats shot a buzzer-beater from the three-point line, giving them the lead by three points.
In the second quarter, the Tigers started on offense. On offense, the Tigers tried to draw fouls on the Wildcats’ post. The Tigers were successful, getting the Wildcats’ post two fouls, and being subbed out. On defense, the Tigers stopped the Wildcats from shooting three-pointers, but were unable to stop the Wildcats from driving. The score at the end of the first half was the Canton Tigers 33 and the Seiling Wildcats 25.
At the start of the second half, the Tigers started on defense. On defense, the Tigers started taking charges, against the Wildcats’ post and point guard, with the Wildcats subbing out their post due to three fouls. On offense, the Tigers ran their plays, trying to break the Wildcats defense. After running the play a few times, the Tigers made a layup.
In the final quarter, the Tigers started on offense. On offense, the Tigers tried holding the ball, but after a few turnovers and calls, the Tigers tried drawing fouls against the Wildcats. On defense, the Wildcats also tried drawing fouls, with the Wildcats successfully getting Jared Cox (11) to foul out. In the final minutes of the game, the Tigers were unable to make layups or bumps, with the Wildcats making two jump-shots.
The final score of the game was the Canton Tigers 51 and the Seiling Wildcats 55. The Tigers’ next game will be on February 20th, at Frontier against the Agra Bearcats, in regional consolation.
