Tigers Win Against Agra and Fall to Woodland

For the Tigers’ first game in regionals, the Tigers traveled to Frontier to play the Agra Bearcats. At the start of the game, the Tigers started on offense, winning the jump. On offense, the Tigers tried to shoot a three-pointer, but the ball bounced off the rim. On defense, the Bearcats tried a fast-break, and the Tigers were able to stop the fast-break, but were unable to stop the Bearcats’ point-guard from driving and making a jump-shot.

In the second quarter, the Tigers started on defense. On defense, the Tigers were unable to stop the Bearcats’ post from scoring. On offense, the Tigers tried to shoot an open three-pointer, but the Bearcats rebounded the ball and attempted a fast-break. The score at the end of the first half was the Canton Tigers 19 and the Agra Bearcats 16.

At the start of the second half, the Tigers started on defense. On defense, the Tigers managed to steal the ball and make a fast-break. On offense, the Tigers passed the ball to their post, making a jump-shot. In the final minutes of the third quarter, a Bearcat player received an intentional foul.

In the final quarter, the Tigers started on offense. On offense, the Tigers were pressed by the Bearcats, however, the Tigers were able to break the press. After breaking the press, the Tigers passed the ball to the post, making a jump-shot. On defense, the Bearcats tried shooting three-pointers, with the Bearcats beating the Tigers on rebounds. After a few attempts at scoring, the Tigers stole the ball and made a fast-break. In the final minutes of the game, both teams started fighting for control of the ball, with players diving on the floor and fouls not being called for either side. In the final seconds, the Tigers won control of the ball, holding it until the game ended.

The final score of the game was the Canton Tigers 45 and the Agra Bearcats 31.

For the Tigers’ second and last game in regionals, the Tigers traveled to Coyle to play the Woodland Wildcats. At the start of the game, the Tigers won the jump, starting on offense. On offense, the Tigers ran their plays, passing the ball to the post, making a lay-up. On defense, the Tigers stopped the Wildcats from shooting three-pointers, but were unable to stop them from driving.

In the second quarter, the Tigers started on defense. On defense, the Tigers stole the ball from the Wildcats, setting up their man-play. On offense, the Tigers passed the ball, looking for an open back-door or slip. However, the Tigers shot and missed a contested three-pointer. The Wildcats rebounded and passed the ball to an open player, with the Wildcats making a buzzer-beater from the three-point line. The score at the end of the first half was the Canton Tigers 25 and the Woodland Wildcats 25.

At the start of the second half, the Tigers started on offense. On offense, the Tigers tried running a zone play. The Tigers passed the ball to the post, making a pull-up jump-shot. On defense, the Tigers held off the Wildcats from driving, however, the Wildcats were able to shoot open three-pointers.

In the final quarter, the Tigers started on offense. On offense, the Tigers held the ball, wasting time on the clock. However, the Wildcats managed to get a jump called by the referees, giving them possession of the ball. On defense, the Tigers managed to stop the Wildcats from scoring. After a few rotations of the Wildcats’ play, the Tigers were able to draw a charge on the Wildcats point-guard. The final seconds of the game would switch possessions, with the Tigers trying to score and the Wildcats trying to hold the ball.

The final score of the game was the Canton Tigers 56 and the Woodland Wildcats 65.
