Pink Out

On Friday, October 26, the community of Canton came out to support the Tiger football team and the Pink Out fundraiser. It was also senior night, as senior football players took the field for the last home game. The weather was nice and the stands were full on the Canton side. Pink Out banners lit up the night and the smell of smoked barbecue filled the air.
The student council served delicious smoked sausage and ribs with all the fixings, raising over $1,500. 7th grade sold pink popcorn balls, and raised $460. 8th grade raised $158 selling bags of chocolate chip cookies. 9th grade sold caramel and smores apples, and raised $170. With all of these delicious options, people enjoyed the great weather and food. In addition to the food, sophomores held a silent auction for several items including a custom made quilt. The silent auction raised a grand total of $1,005. The junior class sold pink out t-shirts. The juniors were the top fundraising class and raised more than $1,600. Seniors sold light up bracelets and raised a total of $447. All proceeds from these items will be sent to the Stephenson Cancer Center to help in the fight against cancer. The Canton community always comes together for this important event.
In addition to the Pink Out activities, Seniors Charlie Moldrup, Deonte Murray, and Morgan Murray were recognized with their families for their contributions to Canton football. Senior cheerleader Jenny Delgado was also recognized. The tigers gave it their all, but came up short to the Turpin Cardinals. However, it was an exciting game and the community raised money for a great cause.
