Guthrie Haunts Leaves Students Haunted

At most haunted houses the scares begin when people enter the house, but at Guthrie Haunts, the fun begins as soon as guests walk onto the premises. It has been rated  “The Best Overall Attraction” for the past three years by Oklahoma Haunted Houses, and it did not disappoint. As soon as we entered the gate there were performers and actors doing their creepy thing.

At the gate, we got out temperature taken and hand sanitizer sprayed on our hands. The line was long but went fairly fast. We got a card with a color on it and whenever the color was called, it was time to get in line. Waiting around we did not have to wear a mask, but when we got in line we had to put one on.  While waiting, scary actors would come by, and they let us take pictures with them.

When we got to the entrance we got hand sanitizer again. The house was really fun and scary, with people popping out everywhere. There was always something scary going on, with either the lights flashing on or off or the room moving. The house lasted 30 minutes for our group.

The only problem was it got really hot in the face mask, and my group was always being rushed. My group was always running into the group in front of us or the group behind us. Sometimes it was hard to enjoy the whole thing because we would be stopping waiting to get behind and the group behind us would be yelling at us to go.

“It was kind of scary but they rushed the groups so we didn’t get the full experience,” Hopelin Hood, junior, said.

Guthrie Haunts is open every Friday and Saturday night, and take people until 11. Tickets are 20$ and for 40$ haunted house goers, can get a fast pass and not have to wait a long time.
