Dark Souls is a FromSoftware game released in 2011 and has sold over 27 million copies worldwide. Dark Souls is a dark fantasy game involving magic and monsters that takes place in the Kingdom of Lordran. The player plays as an accursed undead who begins a journey to discover the fate of their kind.

Dark Souls is one of my favorite games because of its amazing mix of atmosphere and character development. Throughout the game, the player is constantly being challenged by puzzles and powerful bosses. The game perfectly adds a sense of suspense by making bosses show up without much notice or having a climactic cut scene showing them appear. The main part of Dark Souls is its challenging bosses which the game is known for.

Dark Souls would not be recommended for people who are not really good at video games and have little patience. The challenge level of Dark Souls makes the run time of the game stretch out making the game seem longer than it is. I think that the challenge helps build on the atmosphere of the dark world filled with suffering.

The characters players encounter throughout the game also make it worth playing because of the deep lore that they present. My favorite characters in the game are Solaire of Astora and Siegmeyer of Catarina because of how friendly they are to the player and how they have such interesting characters. Solaire is my favorite out of the two because of how players meet him early in the game and how he gives players an item to help make friends with other players.

Dark Souls multiplayer brings a huge boost to the fun of Dark Souls allowing the player to play with friends. It also allows the player to summon random people to help the player with bosses to help reduce the difficulty of the game. The multiplayer aspect of the game also adds in a player vs player system where players can invade the world of other players to fight and kill them.

Out of all the Dark Souls games my favorite world is the first one because of the way it builds story into every area. While exploring the world there will always be secrets to find and new things to discover making every playthrough a little different.

Overall Dark Souls, in my opinion, is the best game ever made although it is extremely hard to master. I would recommend it to anyone who has patience and a love for dark fantasy. Most players on their first time will spend hours trying to get past the first few areas. I think that that time is worth it and the entire experience is enjoyable but frustrating. I think that it is still worth playing even though it is such an old game.
